Are you sure you're reading the comic right? The last image we see is YOUNG LOKI eating the magpie that is OLD LOKI, I read that as Young Loki actually beating his former self. Plus, if nothing else, the crown still exists (which is comprised of Young Loki's thoughts and memories) so...ya know...there's that.

Granted I have read any of the author's comments, but I just took the ending TOTALLY DIFFERENT. (I'm still reading young avengers regardless...)

Eating the magpie was how he 'swallowed the lie' - the lie being Ikol, who then took obliterated kid Loki and took control of his body.

Loki won against his old self because he was different from what Loki is supposed to be - he won because he changed enough that he was willing to sacrifice himself for people other than himself.

Kid Loki is gone. We can know that because a) Gillen said so (although, granted, he has lied in the past!) and b) kid Loki wouldn't say "damn you all" in that last panel. He has no reason to. That's old Loki saying "damn you all," because he realizes kid Loki was right and he can't change.
