Re: Embroidery! Specifically lace making!

Needle laces built off cording or tape are pretty easy to learn, and very easy to do free form. With the time limit I'd definitely work with purchased yardage of cording/tape, you don't want to be wasting time with the tedium of making your own cord. Searching for "Romanian Point Lace" with Google might be the easiest way to get information on needle laces made with cord, there was a trend for it on Ravelry in the last year or so and that helped get tutorials more visible.

Needle laces without foundations of cord, tape, or fabric to start from... I wouldn't even try in just three weeks. Bobbin lace is right out with that time limit.

If the OP knows how to crochet than Irish crochet/Bruges lace might be adaptable for the project, it is easy to free form, but if the time limit has to include learning to crochet as well as the lace making... not very feasible.

As for learning embroidery stitches, I like this site.
