Continuing to think about it, the only way it could make sense to me is if she actually meant that she thinks /expecting/ to still be a virgin at 25 is an impractical...goal, or whatever. Having not seen the show, I have no real idea.

I...guess. It doesn't work for everybody, but it does make a little more sense. Most people do have a sex drive that needs attending to, after all.

That's pretty much the way I took it. I have a pretty strong sex drive, and no way could I have made it to 25 as a virgin. It just wouldn't have happened. I didn't even make it to 16! I just wanted sex too much. So maybe she sees virginity as something people struggle to maintain, probably for religious reasons, and she thinks it's very difficult for everyone.

I don't really understand this.

I'm a 22 year old virgin. I am chaste for "religious" reasons (kind of tied in with personal/emotional reasons as well). I want to have sex only with my chosen partner after marrying him.

It's not actually that hard. And I DEFINITELY have a sex drive. So, like, we all have our own choices and all that, but it's kind of annoying to see people always talking about how much of a struggle it surely must be to not have sex if you choose not to. No, there are actually people (who are not asexual) who make that choice for personal reasons and it isn't that big of a deal.

Maybe for you it's not. Funny how people in this thread were much quicker to jump on broad-brush projections that were in favor of sexing it up than the contrary.
