Today's theme is, thanks to the Princess Tutu secret..."Cardcaptor Sakura!" General series discussion, but remember not to bring up the forbidden pairing or else you'll lose the game. Talk about Tomoyo instead, or how awesome it was when Sakura set an entire sky full of rain on fire.

I think my love for CLAMP started to sour when I finally read the Cardcaptor Sakura manga. How do they think it's okay for teachers to hang out in the bushes waiting for students? That is not cool at all and took the series from something I would recommend for kids to no, just no. The way they handled relationships had bothered me before, but I'd sort of brushed off those feelings because I loved the pretty art and ridiculously dramatic plots.

But, I still like the anime and love the characters. They are all full of awesome.

Wow, most people say that they starting souring on CLAMP after reading their newer series (while holding up CCS as one of their best works).

I definitely see where you're coming from: while Terada/Rika was supposed to symbolize another form of "love" for Sakura to accept, it just came across as creepy. A lot of fans would say, "At least he's going to wait until Rika grows up to marry her!," but what if Rika changes her mind in upcoming years? She's only ten. :/

Anyway, I love CCS.

It was one of those things that helped me realize I was gay actually. Because I saw some Tomoyo/Sakura fansites and it just kind of...snowballed... (oh man I hope that's not the forbidden pairing).

Tomoyo is great though.

It's Sakura/Syaoran -- it's one of the forbidden pairings listed in the OP! You can talk about Tomoyo/Sakura as much as you want, though.

I'm really happy for you that CCS helped you realize your sexuality, since Nanase Ohkawa said in an interview that it was supposed to center on the validity and equality of all forms of love. Touya and Yukito's relationship played out really well, in my opinion.

Cardcaptor Sakura is one of my favorite anime ever, and definitely my favorite CLAMP production.

I still want to cosplay one of Sakura's outfits someday. Or maybe one of the cards' outfits. THEY'RE ALL SO CUTE. I do love CLAMP's costume designs, no matter what the story, but Sakura's are the best.

I, for one, am very entertained by the thought that you and Chard are sort of the same person. ("Sort of" as in a more symbiotic joining than the same entity.) So, hush. Don't ruin the wonderful image I've got in my head with your logic. I haven't decided with one of you is the Kuato yet.

I love CCS. I credit it for helping me have a healthy outlook on the various forms love can take than if it had been up to the people around me, and helped me see how wrong the adults around me where about many things regarding the topic.

At the time I watched it, I never thought Syaoran's crush on Yukito wasn't any weird (nor Yukito and Sakura's brother's relationship), and in retrospect that helped me realize that "oh no the gayz D:" most certainly do not wreck or confuse children's minds and all that nonsense.

I also love how it helped me understand forms of love beyond the romantic/sexual/friendship/familial divisions as an adult when I was going through various confusing moments.
