Not the OP, but just for I know it would have been highly impractical for me to stay a virgin that long.

The reason being that I have a strong sex drive, and no religious or cultural beliefs that virginity is important. Possibly, theoretically, I guess I could have kept my virginity into my 20s...but it would have been impractical because there was no reason whatsoever for me to do so, and a very compelling reason (my libido) for me not to. I would have had to work much harder to stay a virgin than not to, and that would have served no purpose and not made me happy.

For someone who doesn't have as strong a sex drive, the opposite might well be true, and staying a virgin might indeed be practical. It all has to do with the amount of effort it takes and whether or not that effort is worthwhile in one's own judgment.

I don't think there's anything wrong with having sex in one's teens like I did, and I don't think there's anything wrong with being a virgin as long as one wants. But practicality--that's something that varies with the individual and the situations.

PS: Not saying you should have masturbated, cos your body your business whose body gets up in it. Just saying "a low sex drive" is not required to make virginity practical.

Having had both and vastly preferring masturbation, I get what you're saying. But trying to tell people that their sex drive is broken just because they really enjoy having sex by/with themselves is hella rude.
