I'm happy you had a happy high school life, then? Because I'm sure there are a hell of a lot more who had the Disney sitcom-type. I know I did. Which is why all of my friends up until college were boys.

Or how about everyone's experience is unique.

Like for example I didn't have a Disney sitcom high school experience or a happy one and I didn't have any friends before college

wait that's not unique

You think it's *because* they're girls that they acted that way? I'm sorry you had shitty friends, but you can't say behavior like that is caused by gender, or that most people are like that. In all my years of high school I had three close guy friends, two of them turned out to be back-stabbers and all three of them were huge drama starters. But I don't go around saying most high school boys act like that just because the ones I know did.

*shrug* I don't know what it is. I just know that none of the guys I knew in high school were ever as underhandedly bitchy as every girl I ever tried to be friends with my sophomore year. Sure, there guys who were jerks, too. But they were honest, in-your-face jerks.

They didn't pretend to be friends with me and then spread false rumors that I was banging a teacher just to see what would happen. Or lie to the one dude I had asked to a dance that I was a lesbian and had only asked him to make an ex-girlfriend jealous.

That was all on the girls.

That's messed up. I'm sorry that happened to you.

There is absolutely nothing like having to tell the principal and the cops that you were too busy being a WoW nerd to have sex with your own boyfriend, nevermind your algebra teacher.

And no, nothing ever happened to the bitch who started the rumor, either.

I'll bet. D:

And she didn't get in trouble?? Even though she basically committed libel and got the cops involved??? ...That's crazy.

Slander, actually, since it was spoken defamation rather than written, which made it even harder. It would've cost the school too much to take it to court (it was a public school, and therefore bleeding money). The most they did was suspend her for a couple of days.

Unfortunately, I was known as the "WoW slut" after that, which meant only the guys were interested in talking to me anyway. The ones who became my friends were those who didn't leave once they figured out the "slut" part wasn't true, lol.

Dangit, I always get those two words mixed up. And I see. And seriously, suspended for a couple of days?? That's what I got for releasing a bunch of crickets in a classroom as a practical joke. I hope her parents at least punished her properly.

How did the Wow thing get out if it was what you told the principal and cops? Did they like... question you in front of classmates? D: Or were you just known as a Wow girl already? If it's the former... that's horrible. But, it's horrible either way, I guess. But it's good you got some good friends out of it, at least. I mean, not that makes it any better. But yeah.

The questioning was done in the principal's office, but there was almost no privacy at all in the admin wing. The principal's office didn't even have a door. So I'm guessing another student overheard it. I didn't really make a secret of my WoW playing, but it wasn't something I talked about constantly, either, so not a lot of people knew.

But yeah, as shitty as it was it did help me get some new and better friends who might not have approached me otherwise.
