Wouldn't it be more Freudian if you purposefully sought out Hotch porn after you made the connection?

Though of course, if Freud had anything to do with this you'd also feel inferior to men because you don't have a PENIS and resent your mother for not having a PENIS and PENIS PENIS PENIS PENIS PENIS.

So you know, given that Hotch porn squicks you and you (presumably) don't feel like killing your mother to marry your father you're probably going to be just fine.

I think the OP found Hotch attractive. At least attractive enough to seek out Reid/Hotch fic. I think that's the implication. And I think we're using Freudian in a fairly broad sense here, ignoring the nonsense of the man's actual theories. And Reid/Hotch does have that parent/child dynamic. Freudian analysis of yaoi aside (someone please write Freudian analysis of yaoi tropes)

That seems like a rational response. If a character really reminded me of one of my parents, I wouldn't want to read porn about them.

It's tough for me to read X-Men First Class smut because "Erik this" and "Erik that" and "Erik sexy sexy sexy smutty stuff with Charles." My stepdad's name is Erik! Eeeeew! So hard to switch my brain to associate the name with different thoughts. But I soldier through because dammit I need Erik/Charles fanfic NOW.
