I feel like this is straight out of fic or something. Especially if they continue the series in modern day. How would that even work? I am in such distress. Merlin is starting to feel timey-wimey like Doctor Who or something. :C

I am under no illusions, I know the show was basically conceived to keep hold of the Doctor Who audience when that wasn't on the air. I happen to like Doctor Who too and even though I know Merlin was to try and keep me "loyal" to the BBC on a Saturday night, I still liked it because it wasn't exactly the same and was fun! So unfortunately it wouldn't surprise me if they're seeing interest in one or both shows waning that they'd pull something BIG and wtf worthy to try pull people back.

But fear not anon, it might yet be an elaborate troll!
