From what I can tell, Darcy's the fandom bicycle (for good reason, me-ow) but I don't think there are that many Bruce fics in general that don't ship him with Tony.

Although, if anyone has Darcy/Bruce fic recs, I won't mind you posting them here.

She isn't the fandom bicycle. She is a self-insert character for a marginal part of the fandom. But whatever, why not write it if you enjoy it.

I've read a few highly-recced fics of this pairing just to try and understand, and I still don't understand the hook of this ship at all. People keep going on about some amazing "potential dynamic" but I don't understand what dynamic they mean by that. Like, no, seriously, what IS this "potential dynamic" people talk about? Is it the age thing? Or is it because Kat Dennings is hot? Or is there something I'm just not getting? Being mystified like this makes me paranoid...

I think it's mostly the age thing. It's about an older man has been on the run, has been cut off from any long-standing relationship and is reluctant from starting any because he's afraid to hurt his partner.

And a younger woman who (depends on the fic) doesn't know what she wants to do in life/gets dragged into SHIELD outside her will/any Darcy backstory, who is (mostly) willful and doesn't take any of the man's bullshit.

Then you add the Hulk into the equation. It doesn't hurt that some recent fics have Darcy initially being afraid of the Hulk and has to go an extra mile to accept the Hulk.

I don't get it either. I love "potential dynamic" stuff (What a lovely way to phrase "crack pairing" lol) but in this case, I can't seem to wrap my brain around it.

Just realized I don't ship Darcy with anyone. Guess it's because I never really got into Thor fandom, and so I never read any fic involving her. I DO like Darcy, I just don't have any interest in shipping her with anyone.

I lol'd a little at 'possible dynamics' and feel bad about it, but then again I don't ship people who haven't met. (But as usual, IDC if others do.)

Sorry Darcy. You're still adorable.

I ship her with Tony or Coulson, so I had to start writing my own fic for my fix. Give it a try! Maybe you'll inspire someone else to write!

I keep trying to write darcy/bruce, but outside of a couple of prompt fics, I just cannot write him well to save my life. And every time I try, she seems to morph into a manic pixie dream girl.

These are my own issues. I fully support more darcy/bruce. But I'll be over here and writing mostly Darcy/Clint.

Least popular? Really? I feel like I see prompts about them on avengerkink all the time. Then again, I'm not sure all of them get filled.

I love their potential dynamics, too, but only as friends. This is because I found an awesome fill on norsekink where Darcy becomes Bruce's assistant so that she can finish her internship and they form this cute little platonic bond. I wish I still had the link, but I don't know that I could find it now.

I'm quite fond of canon Darcy, she's cute, sassy and made me grin stupid amounts with her snark. Fanon Darcy can die in a fire though I have yet to see a pairing fic where she isn't used as a self-insert so the author can hook her up with their favourite.

This is some whining. The fact that there are more popular pairings in such a big fandom hardly makes it a rare pairing. There are over 150 fics on AO3 for Bruce/Darcy. I would love to have that many fics to pore over for some of my favorite ships.

There's a sad lack of Bruce in general, actually. Personally, I just want more fic where Bruce isn't hiding in a science lab the entire time while the team are off having shenanigans. The pairing doesn't matter to me in the slightest. :/
