Re: shameless self-promotion
Out of everything? Hmm. Well, my new favorite shiny thing is the seagull canon from yesterday, which really is shameless self-promotion, but the thing that I distinguish from every other thing I've written is this: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6551392/1/The-Fire-and-the-Flood
It's for Sherlock, written back when I was enamored with the show (and back when I still posted everything on FFN instead of Dreamwidth), but the reason I love it is that when I wrote it it very much cemented my own writing style, which had previously not been very clear. (I don't mean my "voice" - I can change that to match the tone or whatever - but that style of words that are just on this side of having curlicues on them.
There are others that I like, and others that different people would probably pick out as the best, but this is the one that's most important to me, so it's the only I choose.
