this reminds me of a friend of a friend who was completely convinced that Brave was horrible because it glorified/promoted child abuse, and she made this long rambling post on her tumblr where she misinterpreted pretty much every interaction between Merida and her mother and turned Merida into this pathetic put-upon saint who could do no wrong, it was awful and you could tell there were Issues behind it

other people immediately started calling her a stupid retard and stuff though, so there was definitely no happy ending siiiiigh people

I think I saw that tumblr post of Brave being actual emotional abuse. I wtf'd at the post and wish stuff like that didn't appear on my dash.

I follow someone on tumblr that always seems to do this projection thing on characters in anime in that they're all trans*. And they do have that attitude that they're headcanon is TRUTH because they identify with that character.
