I'm pretty sure the author is a guy.

I was into it for a while but I lost interest.

The author's a girl, she just doesn't feel like emphasizing it. A while back there was this thing where an art class of hers was having a contest for who could have the most popular art blog (her original art, not fanart), and there was a page listing all the participants by name, and the name that linked to her blog was a female one. I forget exactly what it was, though. I think she's kind of amused by people being so confused about her gender.
