Oh yeah, it's great, everyone I know reads Harry Potter, so it's fantastic being able to just talk about it with people at uni, or my mum, or virtually anybody.

But online fandom is not a place I like to be, I abandoned it because people became over critical [it's a kids book for crying out loud], and as much as I tried I couldn't help feeling some of it rubbing on me, I started to look at every little thing, hate every little mistake, dislike a pairing because of its fans. I had to leave because I felt the negativity would end up making me hate the books.

Although there were good times too, like counting the minutes until the release, or carpet!book.

12. "Twilight" defaults to "Twilight Princess" for me. But really, I'm getting sick of all these vampire stories. :| My friends won't shut up about it.

15. You know, sometimes I wish I could get my mother into fandom, and sometimes I'm really glad that I can't. If I told her Ritsuka was a girl, she'd believe it--she thinks most manga guys are female, anyway. (In fact, she'd probably believe I was reading girl x girl.)

But as it is, she'll probably never ask. She just considers manga "those comic things you like so much" and doesn't otherwise acknowledge it XD

17. I've never been able to comprehend what's so bad about IchiRukia shippers, having never been in the fandom and not seen any of the horrible drama they apparently stir up. But it's always fun to watch a rabid shipper finally get a smackdown.
