I've made secrets expressing opinions I really have in an unnecessarily confrontational way.

I made a non-inflammatory secret expressing an opinion of my sister's which I don't share, because I wanted to see what the reception would be.

Yeah, I'll often post secrets with a popular (and annoying) opinion in my fandom, because I get a weird sense of satisfaction in seeing F!S people tearing the shitty opinion apart.

Occasionally I also post something I don't actually believe, either, but I just want to see what people have to say about it. I never post something to piss people off, just to get discussions going.

Yeah. But I make troll secrets and then I worry about offending people, so I edit them. Then I end up with troll secrets that sound perfectly reasonable about opinions I don't have, and there is no wank. It's unsatisfying as hell.

No I haven't, but a recent secret of mine has been considered a troll secret.
I'm not very good at making convincing troll secrets or good troll secrets at all.

Yes but it wasn't a wanky thing, and it was an opinion that I heard in a discussion but didn't hold myself, not something I invented.

Yeah, but it fizzled out. One or two people went "ok then" on me and that was all. No one calling troll. No one ashamedly agreeing. No wank. Nothing. It was so disappointing!

No, but I have had one of my secrets be considered a troll. It was because I didn't realize the topic itself was inflammatory no matter what you said. Most didn't think I was a troll though. They just thought I was a poor uninformed newbie. Which, I was, so that's okay.

no, but i have posted secrets that i KNEW would be attacked because the opinion is unpopular...i usually leave those for when i am feeling particularly brave

Yeah, back when The Dark Knight had just come out and we had like 20 Joker secrets every day, I joked in the comments that I was about ready to make fake anime secrets so I'd have secrets I was actually interested in. Someone else jumped in and totally agreed with me, so we made a few fake anime secrets for the fun of it. I don't remember what all of them were, but I do remember one was "I ship Shinji/Pen-Pen."

They were pretty uncreative and lame, honestly.

I once made an "I ship it" secret for a creepypasta, mostly to see what happened.

It didn't get much reaction here, but it became memetic in the fandom and I was happy.

Yes. I think in total I've made fourteen troll or joke secrets in five months. It's always exciting to see which will get great reactions and which will be ignored. I like offbeat wank so I try and come up with creative secrets. Sometimes people agree or encourage my secrets and I'm left bewildered.

There was one. One beautiful secret that was a last minute thought and I didn't expect all that many people to respond. You guys lost your shit. That was my favorite thread ever. I had one of those fits where you think you'll never stop laughing.

I've also made a secret on behalf of someone else and added an unauthorized trolly element. It was beautiful.

Sometimes I exaggerate.

Just one, it was an opinion I actually have, phrased in a way I knew would ruffle feathers.

It worked really well. Not a single person called troll, either. Heheh.

I made one that was a more extreme view of how I felt. Unfortunately it was from a semi-obscure fandom so it didn't get a lot of hits.

Uh. It was my real opinion but phrased in a manner I knew would get people's hackles up.

Put the secret together in a fit of late-night frustration, too lazy and annoyed to add the further explanation that would have made it obvious I wasn't just a blatant troll, posted it, instantly regretted it. :( I'm too soft for trolling. Never again.

Sometimes because I'm genuinely curious as to the resulting comments.

Sometimes I'm in a bad mood.

Sometimes I want to read comments hating on the fake-opinion.

Two secrets I posted which were my actual opinion were considered troll secrets, and after reading the first two or three opinion posts, I didn't go any farther. I saw that one of those posts had lots and lots of comments, but I've never gone back to read what anyone said.

Yeah, I'm sensitive.

Nope, I tried trolling anon in comments once and it even though I got a lot of people mad, it wasn't that fun. So now I think trolling is boring and I'd never make the effort of making a whole secret just for that.
