Just speaking generally *cough* there are a crazy number of nerve endings in and around the sphincter, making it very pleasurable for both sexes to have that area stimulated during sex (except for those who aren't into that for various reasons, and we're all different etc.) That's why rimming can feel so good, for example.

Also, in women the clitoral nerves can actually be stimulated "from the other side" so to speak, if you hit the right angle during anal sex (they're really sort of amazingly spread out). So a bit similar to prostate stimulation, though not precisely.
