I didn't think the first Toy Story was that amazing (pretty cool, but nothing to write home about), but the second one was just a bundle of fun and emotion and then the third one hit all my buttons. The first one isn't necessarily representative.

Agreed. It wasn't a crap movie, but it was very meh; they kept getting better, for me. 8)
