NAYRT

Yeah, but straight guys don't have the same problem with dicks. I mean, they don't find them hot, but they have no problem viewing them in a pornographic context.

Actually, most porn for straight men (so, most porn, full stop) makes an effort to show only as much of the man's body as absolutely necessary, and in the frame of what it's doing to the woman. That way the men watching can pretend the man is himself and the cock is his and not feel gay for looking at another dude's body :/

Well, there's also porn written for women from the woman's POV so she can pretend that she's the woman in the story.

what does writing have to do with watching porn?

That way the men watching can pretend the man is himself and the cock is his and not feel gay for looking at another dude's body :/

so is this porn for women as big a business as porn for straight men?

(Anonymous) 2012-11-26 07:30 pm (UTC)(link)
of course not, women aren't pervs /sarcasm

Which, as a woman, makes it difficult if you are turned on by the facial expressions of a man having sex or by the sounds he makes, because so many porny pics and gifs and videos focus on the woman's face. No matter how comfortable one is with the female body and how much seeing a woman having sex may be a turn-on in a different way (imagining oneself being her), het porn that focuses too much on it can lack a certain spark when the man is just this silent, faceless figure. Even if his whole body is in view but you only see the back of his head, it can be a bit of a let-down. (It also doesn't help that in a lot of male-oriented porn, the actresses put on these expressions of either boredom or pain. Kinda hard to be turned on at all by that because I certainly don't want to identify with someone who looks like she'd rather not be there.) I like het porn like woah, but sometimes guy-on-guy (or just solo guy) is the only way to get the best visuals. (When it comes to written porn, I'm far less picky and will take whatever.

Kind of off-topic, but the same thing bothers me about het porn. If I may share a sort of niche secret? Look for porn marketed toward gay men who like straight men. There! You find straight porn that focuses on the dudes and keeps the women out of frame as much as possible. (Straight Guys for Gay Eyes, etc)

I really get this. And as a bi woman, seeing a disinterested (or almost worse, fakely enthusiastic) expression on the woman's face is doubly awful - not someone I want to identify with OR find attractive.

Not true, they're always comparing inches. 'No jumbo dick' is one reason fake-lesbian porn is so popular.
intrigueing: (no hard feelings point break)

No, really, are you serious???

Pretty sure that's Remus not Sirius.
