Yes that would have been PERFECTION. Well, the Power of Three was also a great ending point, but the Christmas moment was just...yes.

Oddly, what bothers me the most is that Moffat didn't even bother to go through the effort of making it huge jaw-dropping extreme universe-ending over-the-top manufactured bullshit drama. It was just lame and pathetic meaningless manufactured bullshit drama. And not a case of "meaningful in its meaninglessness" either. If it was a big honking deal I could have worked with the manufactured drama, but it was just basically "oh yeah, um, lemme pull some stuff out of my ass that totally contradicts a bunch of previous episodes and makes no sense because I'm too lazy to manufacture some bullshit drama that at least makes sense."

They're just books, and while there does seem to be a "Slytherins are evil!" feel, remember that their core traits aren't necessarily evil: ambitious, resourceful, adaptable, cunning. I'm part of a Harry Potter community and the Slytherins are awesome (as are the Gryffindors and Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs). While it's great that this inspired you to want to be a better person, don't put so much stock in it. Be proud of the good things you do.

Also, the Pottermore test is bullshit. Seriously.

Sorry, OP, but I'm going to have to disagree. I happen to like seeing a relationship [in the non-sexual sense] like mine on TV, and I'd *really* hate for them to go the route of 'Oh wait, they just *thought* they didn't want a sexual relationship/were okay with a non-sexual relationship!'

Of course, the fact that it seems like Sheldon treats Amy like shit doesn't help.

I used to think it was some kind of acronym for "disagree".

There was even one time where I was talking to someone about thoughts on how terrible or awesome something was on here, and someone piped in with a "DA here is a paraphrase of what you just said basically, plus other points". I kind of internet yelled at them for trying to be contrary while only rephrasing what I had said as if it meant something different. And then I felt bad later for blasting off at them over trivial shit.

The worst bit is that the DA apologised for something they didn't even do.

One of my classes had the owner of a publishing company come in and talk with us, and he discussed 50 Shades specifically. Apparently it was originally self-published digitally, and it became so popular that publishers started going to the author to try and get a piece of her profits. Since it's really expensive to print books and whatnot, she took one of the deals and the franchise morphed into the monster we all know. That still leaves us wondering about things like CC's stuff and Twilight, but at least this one has a plausible explanation. (Then again, I guess the explanation for all of them is that for some reason people love this mindless cheese-puff fiction and publishing agencies want the money of giving people the crap they like)

I had the same reaction after reading something on the SPN kink meme or SPNBlindfold. I got a little intense thinking about it and decided it was in my best interest to just not engage at all anymore and I've since banned myself from reading any bestiality kinkfic. It just wasn't healthy for me cause I got kinda obsessed.
