Unless it looks bad because the font is unreadable, your secrets are probably just fine. Pretty is nice and all, but I don't come here for art, personally.

Well, you can't say something like that and not mention it. I can't think of a single fandom that would garner *abuse*.... That's just bizarre to me.

You're in luck, since Baten Kaitos (and its sequel-prequel) was one of the best releases for the GameCube! (I really hope you haven't played it already or disliked it.)

(Anonymous) 2012-11-28 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
For me, I think it's mainly because I enjoy shooting, but I don't like FPS where you shoot humans. Also, I'm interested in zombies, so that works out nicely. Another appeal is that the female characters are awesome and non-sexualised. I like the guys too, but it's more important to me that the female characters are well-presented.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-28 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
Really? I thought it was because of Stephen Merchant/Wheatley?

And even then it's a bit iffy in terms of last hurrahs. The first half is nice in terms of Amy and 11 actually talking about themselves for once, but the plot's rather muddled in the second half and at the climax, Amy and Rory skedaddle off screen with Brian while the Doctor blows up the bad guy and several unconscious humans with him.

Holding my fist up in solidarity with everyone else.

But I really hope you keep going with fandom and find some people to connect with! Man...all these lonely fans. Feels like there should be a way to connect all of us out here fumbling alone on the outskirts of the party but darned if I know what it is.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-28 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
No, it's because Wheatley is British, and every woman loves British guys!111

I was just lecturing one of my guildies about this because he wouldn't stop bothering me. In MMO's the stats show something like 29-35%, but he claimed he wasn't used to female gamers. This is part of the reason why I don't like to go on vent/teamspeak/mumble all that often.

It's Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean. I never saw the "major character was a villain all along" twist played out so quickly and viciously.

Actually, talking about GC games and plot twists reminds me of Beyond Good and Evil, which was an excellent Ubisoft game with several big plot twists of its own (though some of them aren't shocking, and others come too late in the game).

(Anonymous) 2012-11-28 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
For WOW that wouldn't surprise me. The number is smaller for other MMOs but it's still fairly significant.

Do you know how to ride a bicycle? Do you have any trouble walking (even if you just get tired out easily)...?

oh god I want some russian bread right now to go with syrok

I'm getting the vibe you're appreciating bestiality from a more real world perspective and that's kind of bothering me. I'm a live and let live type when it comes to fantasy because it rarely interesects with actual desires but if it does in this case please don't act on it. Animals cannot consent. Ever. It's an awful thing to do even if you take every precaution to insure the animal isn't harmed. And even taking the animal's well-being out of the equation acting on the desire to sexually abuse another living thing isn't good for YOU or your mental state.

I'm giggling over the "Dead Mow Five" comments.

haha wrap. now all i'm picturing is angry hitler yelling at a tasteless chicken & sausage wrap.

The thing is that through experience and practice, these difference are evened out to a large extent. Honestly I think it's more of a social thing. Many women are not gamers because they were socialized to like other things. If my parents had taken away my video games all those years ago I probably wouldn't be as interested in them as I am today.

There have been experiments done in the last two years (at least at my University) that had women who out performed men in puzzle based games like tetris. They weren't even looking for gender based differences in that particular experiment.

Exactly what I was thinking!

Nothing wrong with ambition, and channeling that ambition towards good things is great!

Bless your heart. I don't even know what it is, but I guess- gosh, they're just super cute? I must confess this is also my first Bond movie and thus know nothing beyond this canon. Wooh.

Good point about Portal.

OP

Oh my gosh! All of this in terms of Season 6! I actually rather liked Season 5. I thought it'd been one of the best seasons to date in terms of overall quality. I chalked my lack of "love" love up to having been a fan already for almost two years vs just getting into it. Amy lacked direction in life because of the Doctor's childhood visit and the crack in her wall eating people without her even realizing it.

And then even at the beginning of season 6 I was looking forward to how everything would go, what this new Time Lady girl would do... and then AGMGTW and Let's Kill Hitler happened.

And then Amy had her thing as a perfume entrepreneur, then a model, then a travel writer? And her parents were never even mentioned again and realized it was the crack that was postponing her character development, it was lazy writing. :\

But...but it's always in caps. So you thought people were screaming "YES" at each other all the time like some kind of porno?

I can dig it.

not always

I usually use lowercase for da and ayrt and nayrt, but I'm only one anon

Pretty much the entirety of Changes in the Dresden Files. It really, really lives up to the title.

This may be at the top of my mind because I just finished Cold Days, which comes *damned* close in terms of it's Holy Shit quotient.
