philstar22: (Doctor 10 to 11)

That makes sense, then. For me the show is always about the Doctor first and then the companions second. It needs both in order to work, but I could handle disliking a companion (though I haven't yet) in a way I couldn't handle disliking the Doctor. But if the show is more about the companions for you, I can understand being more frustrated.

I guess I just have things I've both disliked and liked about both eras. There are things I love to rant about and things I love watching over and over again.

I am interested to see who plays the Doctor next, even if I do like Eleven. Twelve will be just as awesome as Nine or Ten or Eleven, hopefully.

Well...it would seem you started doing good things because you wanted out of the house label. I mean, sure, you did great things, there's no denying that at all, and I salute you...but there was an ulterior motive to it that is in itself kind of Slytherin-ish.

Not that Slytherin by its nature is evil, though, as people have said.

Also, it's an online test, and not even very good from a personality-test standpoint. So chillax, OP. You're fine.

Dear FS head canon anon

Thank you for a night of high entertainment yesterday. Most amusement I've had reading a thread here for quite awhile. ^_^

The ladies do. And Doom.

No, it would just have been boring or made it look they they were actually IN a relationship.

Same.

So I wasn't the only one whose first thought was "aww, adorable!" XD

Do oysters frighten you as well? Because I could never quite see them the same way afterwards.

I think with Cersei it was less to make Joffrey look evil and more to make Cersei less of a horrible person and more of your traditional antihero/"strong independent woman" that pop up in these shows. They can't have a female character that is actually a reprehensible human being who has babies slaughtered.

One of my favorite quotes from the last book

(Anonymous) 2012-11-28 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
“What if I'm in Slytherin?'

The whisper was for his father alone, and Harry knew that only the moment of departure could have forced Albus to reveal how great and sincere that fear was.

Harry crouched down so that Albus's face was slightly above his own. Alone of Harry's three children, Albus had inherited Lily's eyes.

Albus Severus', Harry said quietly, so that nobody but Ginny could hear, and she was tactful enough to pretend to be waving to Rose, who was now on the train, 'you were named for two headmasters of Hogwarts. One of them was a Slytherin and he was probably the bravest man I ever knew'.”

I can get that. I love Ten, but there are things that bug me about him that didn't with Nine or Eleven. I do think he worked better with someone who could tell him off when he needed it like Donna.

Why are you embarrassed Miss I write superhero noncon gang bangs for birthdays and link them in threads about crayons and make innocent lizards enjoy noncon bubble wrap popping on this very comm?

Dirty talk is where you draw the line? What if we make it noncon dirty talk?

I know the feeling, OP. Boy, do I ever...been in and out of various fandoms for many years and often find myself enjoying the things people hate/don't care about, and I rarely seem to be able to keep the friends I make in any of them for whatever reason. I hope that eventually you can find your niche in a fandom and that everything will work out.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-28 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
It's probably your shitty grammar that makes them "looks bad."

(Anonymous) 2012-11-28 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
The defining traits of Slytherin are ambition and cunning. There's nothing wrong with those traits; I know plenty of people (and fictional characters!) who fit the Slytherin description perfectly but remain good people. Slytherin was the villain house because it had a culture of racism. Real-world "sortings" into Slytherin don't come with that cultural baggage attached.

The thing is my problem wasn't with Amy - she had enough potential for me. It's just that I've fundamentally had issues with the show since Moffat became showrunner. And I fear Clara isn't going to change that. I wish she could - but unlikely.

I already dread the day he's going to try and connect that storyline to Oswin, because knowing him, it's going to be some cheap explanation that will leave you wanting.

It's wank from years and years ago. She used Firefly and Buffy quotes in her Harry Potter fanfiction, people are still mad about it.

(There is other wank involved in her whole snarled history, but since 'plagiarist' is far and above the most common thing people say about her, that's what I'm going with as the main complaint.)

What is this album? :)

(Anonymous) 2012-11-28 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
Because there's only one ASOIAF fan who ships Sandor and Sansa, right? Moron.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-28 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
I can't stand Eleven either and so I tend to miss episodes and then take forever to catch up. I usually have to force myself to watch them and I only do it because he isn't the end all, be all of the Whoniverse and I fully expect to love the show again someday. Or at least be interested in it again. I want to know the complete on-screen canon when that happens.

I don't know. I mean, she does have nuance in the books too. She was abused by Robert and mistreated by her father. I think it may have been more of the "viewers are idiots" thing where the show thought that was too subtle for readers to get and felt the need to play up the sympathetic side at the expense of the evil side.

Last I checked he sorta was considered an unfunny douche. Granted, Superhero canon isn't my area of expertise.

Fandom can be a very lonely place. There's so much open love and appreciation and it can feel like you're sitting on the outside looking into a giant house party of awesome and it's just a big spotlight on your own lonliness and lack of party people.

I'm sorry. I hope you find friends and feel like you belong, either in fandom or out there in the offline world.
