I really, honestly thought this was Qui-Gon and Anakin sometimes, even though I read the secret and the fandom. It took me a second to unsee it.

I do love that moment, where he's trying to find out who Sam's got a crush on and he's like "So she? ... he? ... goes to school with you?" and Sam says "SHE doesn't even know I exist." I just love that moment, he was totally fine with Sam having a crush on a boy.

:( I'm sorry, OP. I think he's one of the best fathers ever. Especially as a step-father.

I keep telling myself I need to watch this movie, but Liam Neeson as a loving father might finally make me do it.

Anyway OP, from the comments Liam's character sounds like an amazing father, so I can't say I blame you. Everyone should have someone that supportive in their life, and it's a shame that it doesn't always happen. :/ You deserve better.

It's a romantic comedy AND a Christmas movie and is yet somehow INCREDIBLY, INCREDIBLY GOOD. You should definitely watch.

It's a Christmas movie? Huh, I always thought it was simply a romantic comedy. It IS the right time of year to be watching then. I'll check Netflix later, thanks!

I adore this movie. It's one of the best Christmas movies ever. Thrills me to the cockles of my heart, it does. :)

YES! It's one of my absolute favorites.

I don't tend to watch many Christmas movies, but it sounds like this one is better than most. I'll definitely try to get around to it soon!

This is one of my favourite movies of all time. Liam Neeson's storyline is fantastic. ♥

Of all time? Wow. I have heard a lot around the internet about how amazing this movie is, and it certainly has a wonderful cast (which is why I wanted to watch it in the first place). Silly me has apparently never seen the boxart because I didn't realize it was a Christmas movie... D'oh.

It's so very, very fun, i think you'll like it! :)

I'll definitely watch it now. With all this praise I've gotta see what I'm missing. Plus...Liam Neeson! (Who is a good enough reason to watch any movie, imo.)

Only problem with Love Actually is there's so many storylines that the chances are there'll be at least one you don't like at all.

But the flipside of this is that it's next to impossible to dislike all of them. Even people who don't like the film can usually name one subplot they thought was good. :)

(That and all the romantic love in the film is heterosexual. Um.)

Ugh, I love this relationship so much. Though that's probably a little to do with it being the only instance I can think of in film/tv with a family relationship like mine (step-parent as sole parent).

I swear I made a secret just like this last year. Because even though the pictured scene is the wrong one (but also the one I used) there is something undeniably awesome about:

"Aren't you a little young to be in love?"
"No."
"Ah, ok. Yes. Well then, what does she...or he...feel about you?"

I don't think there's anyone out there that wouldn't want Liam Neeson as their dad. He's like, the nicest person ever, and will totally punch a wolf in the face or fly to France and electrocute a motherfucker for his kids.

Hah, "reading fic of Liam Neeson as *world's best dad*" = how I even got into fandom in the first place. (I was in TPM fandom, and 99% of what I read was Obi&Qui father-son bonding fics. BEST FANDOM, GUYS.)

Aww, yes. I love this movie and especially their relationship. It's one of my favorite stories - if not my favorite story - of the whole movie.

Especially that scene where he goes running down the hallways of the airport.
