Obviously, actors usually look slightly different in every episode of a given season, but sometimes, whether it's just a quirk of the hair/makeup department's job on them, or a costuming choice for non-uniformed characters, or something, they just look noticeably hotter than usual in a particular episode.

This occurred to me when I was watching the Buffy episode "Bad Girls" and realized that for some reason, Buffy looked especially pretty there, and not because of some explicit in-universe choice on the part of the character. Any of you ever noticed something like this?

Ben Affleck was incredibly hot in Daredevil and never in anything else. I think it was a combination of the hair and sunglasses.

I just saw The Town, and I was like... Holy fuck, when did he become sex on a stick?

And speaking of Daredevil, Colin Farrell may be in my top 5 list of hottest men, but he was heinous in Daredevil. It is to my eternal chagrin that his sex tape was made during that period; bald w/goatee. Fuuuuuuuu-

Ian Harding with his hair combed like that and his good guy vest in Pretty Little Liars. I find him hot in nothing else.

I watched a few episodes just for him; I didn't even care about the plot or the other characters.

A first-season episode (A Boy in a Bush) of Bones where Bones is going to a formal party. They did something with her eyeshadow to make her look stunning. The pictures can't even convey it well enough:

I read once that the makeup team on the show has to use very little makeup on Emily Deschanel because with just a little bit more she's so beautiful it's distracting.

I remember two instances from Doctor Who:

Ten-as-John-Smith in Human Nature/Family of Blood, both the WWI-era clothes and the slightly different style of adorkability, because it was totally carefree and genuine for once instead of a defense mechanism against being so miserable and tormented.

Eleven in Flesh and Stone. Partly because he ditched his jacket halfway through and to say I have a kink for suspenders and rolled-up sleeves is an understatement, but there was something else about him too...maybe it was just the lighting...

For me it was Tennant in "Voyage of the Damned." The lighting director was making him look AMAZING.

Speaking of tuxedos and Doctor Who, Rory was lookin' fine during the wedding scene of The Big Bang. I usually just see him as kind of cute.

Maggie Gyllanhaal in...basically everything she wears in Stranger Than Fiction. I mean, I find her pretty in other stuff too but I didn't realize it until that movie. Something about her in a do-rag, tank top, and an apron with flour stains on her face makes her look particularly cute for some reason, IDEK. Maybe it's the "girl next door" vibe?

Lucy Lawless as Xena was always hot, but in the Debt II, in the scene where Lao Ma heals her broken leg....she was unbelievably beautiful. She just looked so fresh and vibrant.

Gabrielle/Renee O'Connor in the fifth season ep Succession was gorgeous too. I mean, I loved her costume change in general but Succession was basically Gabby running around being hot as fuck trying to hunt the villain of the week down. It's not really an exceptional episode, but it's one of my favorites just because of Gabrielle. ♥

I'm one of those who think Benedict Cumberbatch is hot pretty much all the time, but DAMN if he didn't look especially delicious in "The Great Game". It was a combination of the Purple Shirt of Sex and him having a really good hair episode (it's like a "good hair day", only, ya know, for tv). Thankfully, it's a good episode anyway, so I can use, "No, really, I'm watching it for the plot!" as a legitimate excuse to watch it over and over and over and over... (-:

How about seasons? Something about Willow in seasons 4-6 is especially hot. I'm straight. I generally don't find redheads all that attractive. But something about her there, especially in certain episodes, gets me every time.

In the first season of Lost, there's a scene in one early episode when Sawyer just walks onto the beach in a black button up shirt and wearing sunglasses, and his hair is just blowing all over the place. I pretty much fell into fangirling the hell out of Josh Holloway after that.

Ewan McGregor was extremely hot to me as a blond in "I Love You, Philip Morris" and anywhere else he's just marginal for me. Albeit since then I've had a bit of a fan crush on him. I just like blonds.
