then ask him why your fandom notes weren't included in the suggestions/comments/concerns post, it's linked at the bottom of the notes section of today's post

I've noticed that wednesday/thursday has more fandoms named than the weekends and friday is the triggers/warnings/spoilers day so I don't think case just says "yay I'm going to name the fandom today" on a random day of the week and doesn't name fandoms the rest of the week

Probably not. But the fact is most of the time the fandoms aren't named. I don't know why but I do know that it isn't exclusively because people submitting the secrets fail to provide them with their submissions.

naming fandoms isn't a requirement and was never a requirement. the mods never added fandom names for secrets for the first couple of years and it has always been up to the secret maker to clarify what fandoms they're talking about.

if you named your fandoms for your secrets and they didn't show up, talk to case

if other people's secrets didn't name their fandoms, talk to the OPs NOT case

also, the first comment of each post say "name the fandom, repeats, etc" so there is nothing stopping you from naming fandoms there

I do on the very rare occasion that I know what the fandoms are. It's funny you say that about the first couple years though because I used to be on F!S a few years ago and the fandoms were named in every post or marked as fandom unknown. The post numbers were pretty low, so I always assumed those were early days.

my dear nonnie, you must be thinking of a different site because fandomsecrets did not start naming fandoms under secrets until end of its second year when there were 70+ secrets every day. even then, naming fandoms were optional. so when I said first couple of years, I meant first couple of years.

Also, I'm sorry you're so butthurt that I thanked case for including the fandom names. If I'd known that anyone would have an issue with "Thank you" I wouldn't have done it. I do know that we've had many threads in here in which OPs and others have talked at length about fandom names not showing up and many people saying it is why they don't come here anymore. As one of the people who has been part of that, I am truly grateful to case for including the fandom names in this post.

if you're so butthurt secrets don't have fandoms named, name the fandoms yourself in the first comment. if you named your fandoms for your secrets and they didn't show up, talk to case. if people didn't name their fandoms when they submitted secrets, case isn't going to name them on the main post. and it's not case's fault if people are leaving because "omg no fandoms were named!!!" when the people making secrets didn't name their fandoms.

The point is that often people ARE naming their fandoms and they aren't getting posted along with the secrets. I messaged case about it the first few times it happened with my secrets and didn't get a reply any of those times so I never bothered after that. A lot of OPs say that they named their fandoms and don't know why it was posted and I believe them because it has happened to me. I name the fandoms in the first the comment thread on the very rare occasion that I know what they are. And I've already said all of this before so I'm done now. The problem is clearly not limited to JUST the OPs. So I'm thankful that case took the time to post the fandoms this time and always will be when it's done and will continue to ignore the ones where absolutely none of the fandoms are named, which is at least half of the posts.
