Really? I'd have to disagree with you there -- I think that "Complacency of the Learned" was supposed to be such awful reading material, Rose had to resort to the dark arts in order to get people to buy it in post-scratch Earth.

I think it's because Rose's fiction reminds me of how I wrote when I was thirteen.

A long time before MSPA, Hussie actually did try his hand at writing a wizard story. Some of the Complacency concepts come from that, as well as a couple of pictures on the wall of Rose's room.

As far as I know he never published any of it to the Internet.

I think it would be cute if someone did a fanfic version of CotL, especially if it was interwoven with a fic about Rose as she was writing it.
