Thank you!

I just googled that ep, and I love that one--especially the rendition of "War."

While I didn't exactly love it, I do sing the songs all the time! They were fun covers. I think people were hoping for another "The Bitter Suite", which obviously it was not.

I liked Bitter Suite, for the story and for Ares and Joxer, but Gabrielle's voice double was so obviously not her that it drives me crazy. Am I the only one?

The dub was always obvious to me too, but doesn't affect my enjoyment that much, tbh. I thought the singer did a fair job channeling Renee/Gabrielle in enough ways that I'm not overly bothered.

The singer who dubbed Callisto, on the other hand, was perfection to me. I didn't know it wasn't the actress until years later.

She was amazing! If I knew it was dubbed, I forgot until you reminded me!

In with the love. I have the soundtrack and I like to listen to it in my car when I'm having a shitty day. Draco's "Always Something There To Remind Me" always makes me smile.

Xena is always great XD I loved all the crackish episodes as much as the serious ones.

I was never in Xena fandom - just watched the show - but I HATED Bitter Suite and loved this one.

Suite was just so, so pretentious - and I (almost) always loved the goofy episodes best.

UGH YES. The Bitter Suite made me cringe, it was trying WAY too hard.

Lyre Lyre was fun and hilarious. And it had Draco! Draco was awesome, not just in this episode but in every episode he appeared in.

People hate it? O_o

It's one of my favorites as well!

I love musical episodes! A bit of cheese hurts no series IMHO

Dude, I love that episode! Even legit bought the soundtrack off iTunes.

And my current generic ringtone is the rock version of the Xena theme from that ep. Because I'm awesome like that.

Omg, rock Xena theme ringtone. That is awesome. I might have to make that my ringtone too.

I remember seeing a lot of people hating this episode when it came out for reasons I don't even remember, but I always liked it. It's cute and cheesy and the songs are fun. I actually bought the CDs for both this ep and The Bitter Suite.

Can't say I ever liked it, but I never really hated it, either. Like, okay, cheesy musical episode done, can we move on, now? I guess I just didn't find it that funny, mostly annoying.

I remember that weird (half-creeped-out) adoration I felt when I first saw this episode.
Last year, I bought a few songs and made a little collection of them (a couple of songs for most of my moods). One of my colleagues saw the track list, saw "Dancin' in the Moonlight" on it, and pretty much couldn't get it at all. (Yes, it did stood out.) Then I tried to explain... and I realized I didn't have a clue why I like that particular song. (It still does stand out.) Then, a few months ago, I stumbled upon a Xena-rerun, actually this episode, and I finally realized: It's all Joxer's fault.
