As a gay person I was actually surprised by the amount of gay people I know who voted for Romney (I live in Texas though, so maybe that's it).

I hate Romney's views on LGBT and women's rights, but as PoTUS he'd have a smaller impact on laws regarding those things than he would the economy. That's the reason most of the people I know voted for him and actually it was that they were voting against Obama because of how he has handled the economy so far.

UNLESS POTUS gets to nominate Supreme Court Justices. That is a helluva big deal when it comes to gay rights.

I don't know any gay people who would admit to voting for Romney, but I live in Seattle.

I used to think Romney was pretty moderate on gay rights, being gov. of MA and all, but then I looked into how he treated gays while in office (saying crap like "I didn't know you people had families" when LGBTs met with him to try to get equal protections). He even dredged up an old anti "miscegnation" law to prevent MA from recognizing the marriages of gays from out-of-state.

That line and the clip of him talking to the Vietnam Vet who was asking if Romney believed that his (male) spouse should get the same benefits as his fellow soldiers' spouses were what decided me that I couldn't stand the man. Especially in the vet video, you can see the moment where Romney's attempt at empathy just shuts off, where's he's decided that this person is Too Different and that if he wanted to be happier, maybe he'd just choose to be straight. No freaking compassion.

This. When I saw that video I went cold and took a personal interest in the election. His face was... horrifying.

... the last time I checked, he had done a lot of good for your economy. Unfortunately miracles ain't done in a day in regards to economical situations.
