You shouldn't vote at all if you only vote party lines.

The problem with the two-party system is that you basically have to vote party lines. I'm not saying that automatically voting for a Democratic candidate because s/he's a Democrat is a good thing; I'm saying that Democrats tend to be more liberal and Republicans tend to be more conservative, so if you're more liberal, you're probably going to vote Democrat. Not to mention that all these liberal or conservative policies are tied in one another so that if one votes to save Planned Parenthood, one then also has to vote for the tax increase to fund it.

I hate the two-party system with a passion.

I voted libertarian this year partly just to make a statement.

And yet I'm willing to bet you would never vote third party because it's a "wasted vote."
