ayrt
I forgot about circumcision, it's not that common in the town I grew up in, even among the religious.
I do frown at that. Let the child decide when they grow up if the want to mangle their genitles (this goes doubly-so for female genital mutilation. Which is banned where I live, but I wish it was banned elsewhere to D:). I read (somewhere) recently that it's becoming less common as the supposed health benefits are disproved?

You'd think the families would want their children to grow up and make a decision for theirselves rather than forcing it on them before they can think.

tl;dr yes, each act/action should be evaluated individually as well as why it's being done. i.e. circumcising a baby = not cool, but if a man independantly chooses to circumcise so he is closer to his god, he can go ahead. It's his body.

This anon posted yesterday, walked off to do chores and never returned to the computer

Female circumcision ugh ugh ugh ugh ugh

That's not really relevant to the topic at hand. But yeah, agreeing for both genders - bodily mutilation should wait until the person whose body is concerned is old enough to make that decision for themself.
