Why do you think being a badass is unfeminine?

I didn't read that into the secret at *all* tbh.

that's... pretty amazing, considering it's not a long secret and there's nothing to read into. it's what the secret says.

"I hate how in movies, whenever a female character is badass, they always either:" [list of what op thinks are feminine traits that taint said badassery] "... or if not those, they kill her."

op then cements it with: "that show there's nothing wrong with girls being completely unfeminine."

You're reading something into it, though. You're assuming OP was implying that they think the feminine traits hurt the badassery. I was just under the impression that OP was annoyed that the media kept bending over backwards to make sure their heroines were still ~womanly enough and they wanted some more variety in gender expression. Society seems to think that femininity and badassery can't be conflated, and it also seems to think a woman has to be at least somewhat feminine. OP isn't saying the women in dresses aren't badass (at least that's not what I read).

And why is wearing a dress not considered masculine?

We need more badass dudes in skirts imo.

Same reason a kilt isn't considered feminine. Arbitrary fashion rules we can't magically grow out of.

I guess what I'm arguing is that many women have been incredibly badass through history. It's just that nerds and geeks for some reason equate Badass with Violent.

I dare you to say Elizabeth Cady Stanton wasn't badass while wearing a dress and having babies.

How badass can you be when you are subserviently obeying your father or husband (or brother)? Not much room for ass kicking in the kitchen, and kicking your children's asses is not recommended. I mean, I guess maybe you could get away with being a bit bold in bed, but it's best to just lay there and take it lest your husband think you have a personality, desires and willpower. Can't have that.

I'll have you know my father is King of Eternia and I do indeed have the power
