I think it's cool that you prefer dubs, but your reasoning seems odd. "I relate better to people who speak my language" seems to smack of racism a little bit, considering that a lot of animes contain aliens or superheroes or other things that would reasonably hard to relate to. Language...not so much, and it's weird that you have that hang up. :/

That's odd, because I never read racism into it. Not sure how language preference would relate specifically to racial discrimination tbh.

If you can only relate to people who speak your language, that's a problem. Not sure if that's exactly what OP meant--they just said "easier"--but it's actually a pretty big concern for extremely ethnocentric countries.

I get what you're saying, I just think 'racism' wasn't the best way to describe it.

And I guess I was sort of giving the secret OP benefit of the doubt that they just weren't connecting as well with the story and characters through text/subtitles as they would like to, not that they couldn't relate to people who speak a different language at all. They probably just worded it awkwardly.

Though I'm tired so I'm probably wording this response awkwardly myself, and if I am I apologize.
