I'm 1.75m. I think that's 5'9" if I'm doing the feet/inches thing correctly.

You're pretty tall for a woman. In this case, I'd expect you (general you) to be okay with shorter guys. I'd really only find it odd if you were like 5 ft (1.5 m), because then shorter guys would be a definite niche.

(I was just curious, so thanks for indulging me.)

That's okay!

My own theory is that it's because when growing up, I was the tallest in my class and well, any cute guy my age was per definition smaller. By the time puberty hit and guys got their growth spurts,I think I had already formed a reference.

But I'm no psychologist so it might be bullshit ;)

I'd actually love to date a guy (or girl!) my height, but I'm all of 5 feet tall, so it's pretty rare that I even talk to someone shorter than me, let alone find someone to date. I actually find people who are too tall (over 5'10" or so) to be a turnoff, although that might be related to my first boyfriend being 6'2", which made things... awkward.
