I'm torn between wanting to popcorn.gif over the trainwreck that the Hobbit fandom will cause (because frankly I just want Bard tbh) because of the crazy shipped from BBC Sherlock, and wanting to rage continuously about the crazy shipped from BBC Sherlock ruining my Tolkien fandom.

I think I'll just popcorn.gif honestly. Much more fun.

Where were you during LotR? Tolkien fandom has *plenty* of crazy of its own!

I'm super-sheltered from the crazy because 1) I came into it way late, by an entire decade, and 2) I prefer a pairing and a favourite character that generally attracts incredibly sane people because neither involves Orlando Bloom, Legolas, or the hobbits. I've heard so many stories about the insanity of Tolkien fandom, like people stalking Viggo Mortensen across countries, but there's still a part of me that still cannot believe it because the fandom I know personally is so incredibly sane and intelligent.
