Try something simple and cheap like getting a cup of coffee together. Think of it as making friends and getting to know someone new. If you chat with enough people it'll get easier over time. Don't punish yourself for making mistakes either, just try to relax and have fun. If you're not feeling it you can always break it off whenever you want, so don't feel pressured to rush into anything if you don't want to.
