OP here - I wasn't a dick about it or anything, mostly because I could at least understand WHY people would ship it even if I didn't really get it at the time. It's kind of hard to be a dick when the most interaction you have with fandom is reading f!s and rarely ever commenting/looking at fanart, but even if I was in fandom it's not like I would've told people to stop shipping it because come on, what's the point in being an asshole over fictional characters?

Then why feel bad about changing your mind? Probably, no one will even know unless you tell them, and I'm sure pretty much everyone who's been in fandom for more than a short time has rewatched a show/movie or reread a book and decided that actually, they do like that pairing/character/whatever that bothered them before.
