He's out of place in the movie period. He looks like some prettyboy fantasy hero as opposed to an actual Tolkien dwarf. Doesn't even have a beard.

To be fair, we never got real physical descriptions for most of the dwarves... hell, most of them didn't even get personalities.

(I haven't even seen it yet and I shop Bomburxeveryone.)

Tolkien describes dwarves as having beards (even the female ones) at birth and that they want to have the biggest beards possible. They're also short and stout.

I mean I'm hardly a Tolkien purist. But this guy doesn't even look like a dwarf.

Fili and Kili are both the youngest dwarves, but I think they're both mentioned in the books as having beards, albeit shorter ones than the rest because of their youth.
