(Anonymous) 2012-12-06 12:26 am (UTC)(link)S4 is probably overall my favorite season, but it hit a brickwall towards the end. IMO, it's because they had to shift gears and set up for what S5 was going to be and S5 didn't really rest well on what S4 had already built. So somewhere after 4.16, it all sort of crumpled. There were some good eps after that point, but none of them matched up with the potential of what had come before then.
I still love the season overall though because the concept and scope of what was initially brought up was so very lovely and some of the cinematography of the season is just *gorgeous* - among the best in the series as a whole.
