I guess you missed the Jimmy Savile scandal that happened just before this one. Granted, the guy's dead now, so anyone who was abused by him can't seek justice. But that scandal was as huge in the UK as the Kevin Clash scandal was here.

And there are a ton of other "straight white guys" that have been rightfully called out for pedophilia. This case to me isn't, for instance, Chris Brown repeatedly being dogpiled for being a horrible person while most media critics ignore the more deplorable behaviors, of, say, Charlie Sheen because of race.

(That's not an apology to Chris Brown. He's still a horrible person who's lucky to have a career because of the lagging mainstream music industry.)

Chris Brown is doing just fine. He still has thousands of fans crawling around tumblr defending him who call Rihanna a "lying heifer" and he performed twice at the Grammy's recently (and has been nominated five or six times since he attacked Rihanna). You can still find him on twitter being an obnoxious, entitled douchebag (although I think he might have recently deactivated his twitter? I'm not sure). I don't know what kind of slackers his PR team is, but they either aren't telling him to keep his goddamn mouth shut or he just doesn't care. He has defenders aplenty.

I honestly just can't be surprised by Team Breezy anymore, especially after watching a couple of the MANY videos on youtube where women (and a few men) rant about how Rihanna obviously made everything up, despite the overwhelming physical evidence to the contrary (uh) or she deserved to be beaten because they thought she was probably cheating on him or had given him one STD or another (UH)

At least everyone hates Mel Gibson now. That guy is pretty much universally despised at this point for all of the terrible shit he did and unlike Brown, he doesn't have a shit ton of delusional fans to defend him to the death (but he probably would if he was hotter and younger). I think most people who still like Charlie Sheen only do it because they're amused by the crazy shit he says (and he has a really bizarre charisma about him). He's still a piece of shit of course and I wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole.
