I think in child abuse it always matters to people if the adult is homosexual or not.

If the adult is homosexual and the child happens to be of the same gender, then people will immediatly point out that the adult was "omg an evil gay".

But look at the scandals of the Catholic priests. The outrage is first and foremost about the sexuality. Because Catholic priests aren't supposed to have sex, period. Then it's about the gender of the child. Most of the time it's boys, so the outrage is about the homosexuality. And when that's over, then we finally can get to getting outraged about HELLO A CHILD GOT ABUSED.

Hets abuse kids, too. But nobody would point out "omg that rapist was a heterosexual! Omg, I'll never let a het near my kids again!"

Yep, I've noticed that.

Double standards both ways. When a man gets raped, it's not taken as seriously as when a woman gets raped. But when a boy gets molested, the molester is somehow "worse" than a "normal" pedophile who goes after girls. I see this attitude even today, when most of us know better than to lump homosexuals and pedophiles in the same category.

A child is a child, a child molester is sick and that's all there is to it. :/

Society is just fucked. There is no rational explanation for the utter stupidity some people call "having morals".
I guess people react very poorly to men getting raped by women because men are supposed to be stronger, more capable and just "better" than women. Rape is a form of torture used for oppression.
So, essentially, when a woman forces a man to something that is considered a tool to "put women back into their place" she turns the man into a woman and herself into a man and that's just unacceptable!
In that case the victim gets blamed because he wasn't able to dominate the woman. He let her turn him into the lesser sex.
I guess men get "offended" by the thought of a woman having such a destructive power over a man. The victim himself doesn't matter, because in their eyes he's already a weakling.

Now when a man rapes another man the reactions can be mixed.
Oftentimes people are outraged because, again, "evil homo forces poor het guy to sodomy" and "treats him like a woman". Double the horror!
But there are also many people who believe that guys who get raped by other guys automatically turn gay and therefore, it is okay to ridicule them.

In my opinion and experience, it all boils down to disgusting gender/sexuality norms and stereotypes and has very little to do with the actual - very horrible - crime of rape/physical and mental abuse :/
