Um, OP, the 3DS is a totally different generation. Like - the original DS, DS Lite, DSi, and DSi XL were all versions of the same system. The 3DS/3DS XL is a totally new system.

Protesting that a new game is only coming out on the 3DS and not the DS is kind of like demanding that, say... Super Smash Bros Brawl came out on the Gamecube as well as the Wii.

DS support is going to slowly taper out and fade. I think Pokemon Black and White 2 will be the last BIG release for it - everything else is for the actual current system.

And that's the 3DS. Not the DS.

Honestly, just get a 3DS! It can do everything the DSi can do, and more. I still only have one 3DS game (Ocarina of Time), but because it's backwards compatible with the DS line, I play them on there, too. And my old DS Lite is now only used for GBA games and for occasions where I need two consoles, like transferring Pokemon. They've come down a lot in price, they're worth it, and honestly? Nintendo is NOT going to support the DS family any more. It's all about the 3DS now.
