Oh right you guys do tests too, keep forgetting that, in my three years of higher education I've had 3 tests, the only thing our lecturer corrects is our "term papers" and they are just approved/not approved.
We send exams to a different University for correcting (most of the time, we do some in house correcting if the subject is only taught in one institution)

Professors in the US are given a considerable amount of leeway in how they teach their classes, so it would be difficult for someone other than the professor or a TA to grade any work. Universities often also teach classes under different names or offer classes at certain universities where qualified faculty teach. It's extremely frustrating to transfer colleges because classes don't match up.
