I've never been able to see him as a "stereotypical historical Russian" (it's probably the shaggy haircut and lack of any kind of facial hair), but it's "Hetalia," so what can you do?

Anyway, OP, you shouldn't need a cartoon character to validate your having a large nose. I know it's hard to convince yourself of it, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with having a large nose.

I sometimes imagine that the Hetalia characters change their looks (not their entire bodies, but their hair and clothing type) according to the fashions of the time period. So Russia could have had a different haircut and facial hair sometime in the past and changed it to this in the 20th century (I think most pictures of him are meant to be from the 20th century, right?).

I'm sure that some of them change their hairstyles or whatnot though.

Welp, the series is getting a new art team (since the old one was crappy) and they changed the Russia's nose to be a tad smaller. His nose is supposed to be a bit bigger like in here.

What is with all the "I'm not comfortable of my body image, but Character X helped me accept myself" secrets lately? Is this a common problem around this time of year? Or a common problem that's been kept secret until recently? I don't get it.

Also: accept yourself! Or work hard and spend your money on things that make you happy (like plastic surgery for some). We're living in ~technology~ OP, you have a higher chance of loving yourself.

Unless something goes wrong during the surgery. You'd be surprised at how often that happens.

It's might just be chance, since this new art for the Hetalia anime came out about a week and a half ago. It might also be secret-makers inspired by earlier secrets on a similar topic.

But it is not as easy as 'accept yourself!', especially when it's normal to - in the same line - suggest plastic surgery. Some people need the extra help and if they find it, good for them.

I think he looks cuter with the bigger nose, actually. The new small-nose version in the secret looks really...generic. He could be any of the Hetalia cast.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with big noses, OP. And I'm not in that fandom, but if the new art made his nose smaller just to make him more "conventionally" attractive, I'd be pissed too.

YANA, OP. Granny Weatherwax helped me accept the fact that I have a nose like a hawk, and if anyone tried to make a film adaptation where she didn't have a face that could only be called handsome in a forgiving light, by a good-natured liar, I would feel horribly betrayed.

I miss his nose but to be honest everything else is just so miles ahead in quality in new character designs that I kind of shrugged it off. I'll take smaller nosed Russia over everyone in Europe having the same piss colored hair and proportions from hell any day. Sorry it upset you though, OP.

Also this is just one image. It might look more accurate in some others?

awwww, anon. i have a big honkin roman nose that i got from my mother, so i more than understand how hard it can be, because i spent the vast majority of my life absolutely loathing it. i avoided letting people look at me from the side, i begged for plastic surgery, cried about it on countless occasions, the whole shebang.

in my case, what really helped me get over it was looking up beautiful models who have big noses, and purposefully taking pictures of myself from the side (which i'd always avoided) and admiring how i looked. feeling inspired, i told my now-girlfriend about all this, and she confessed that she really really loved my nose and it always upset her when i talked about getting plastic surgery! needless to say, i was really shocked, since through all my self-loathing (and occasional rude comments from other people) i had never imagined anyone actually liking what i feared was unforgivably ugly. NOWADAYS, i love my nose, and i really adore big noses in general. i think they're beautiful and so so awesome!!

anyway i'm sorry to ramble about myself, but the point is: BE PROUD OF YOUR BADASS/SUPER ATTRACTIVE NOSE, and i hope this helps at all or gives you ideas?!!?!
