I think it's one of those movies that is better if you don't have expectations going in, I actually didn't expect much because it was a Lindsay Lohan movie, but I ended up being blown away by how good it was and being surprised how funny I found it.

It's just one of those movies I enjoy watching a lot, and yeah, "good for what it is" is a good description. It's just one of those every once in a while teen movies that people really latch onto, before that was Clueless, and before that was Heathers. None of these movies will win Oscars, but a lot of people will love them and quote them repeatedly.

Mean Girls came out after I was already in college, so it didn't "hit" me. Also, Regina was such a caricature. (I was targeted by bitchy girls but no one was big enough to be THAT MUCH of a queen bee, and if she was, she was generally actually pretty okay. The bitchy girls were the slightly-less-popular-in-the-popularity-hiararchy, actually.)

Clueless was a lot more like my high school. Just... yknow... with a little bit more freedom with what the students got to do. The stereotypes and whatnot fit better.
