you have an entire show based around the premise of protecting arthur with sekrit magic
if you end it by not ever revealing the magic and killing arthur WHAT WAS THE DAMN POINT
although considering how terribly they handled the lancelot/gwen fiasco i dont know if it'll ever happen. seriously that was so ham-fisted it could not have been more ham-fisted if they took an actual ham and banged it on the keyboard to write the script.

merlin got dark but not in the ways i think the writers intended. like morgana's character arc was kind of cartoonish but merlin's character arc has been really, uh
dark like "merlin what are you doing what"
