Notes:

- The Da Vinci Code image wasn't loading correctly, so I hosted it on Imageshack. Just a heads-up to everyone, please post direct links rather than image reference links (Ithinkthat'swhatthey'recalled). LJ's evil and likes to destroy some image links for me. Sorry for the trouble!

Secrets Left to Post: 04 pages, 120 secrets from Secret Submission Post #003.

Third person here. Agreed.

Let me be the one to disagree, then. I don't know the person, but I tend to scroll through comments just like anyone else to see the differences of opinions and what becomes of it. Diversity pleases me, that sort of thing. So far, I haven't seen [livejournal.com profile] lost_remnant do anything but speak her/his mind, and respond to the secrets.

I also don't feel like starting a wank war, but, here I go: A lot of these anonymous comments seem very off, to me.

"I think you're one of the reasons that people have to keep some of these things secret." "I'm almost scared to continue posting here if this is going to start becoming a trend among members... We post here to say things we wouldn't say out loud to others because we don't want that overtly negative opinion."

You know, if we didn't have the inbred fear of disagreement, I think a lot of things wouldn't stay secret, correct. I don't think I'm all that off by saying that that's part of the reason why this community was created, and also why secrets are posted anonymously. Opinions are going to be shared here, that's part of the purpose of it, and if you don't want opinions, I don't think it's completely wise to read through the comments after seeing your secret posted.

Technically, by your reasoning, then, those anonymous people above have just as much right to express their opinions as [livejournal.com profile] lostremnant does, right? And none of the posts made above were particularly offensive, in my opinion.

You see this happen all the time in [livejournal.com profile] ljsecret (especially when anything dealing with homosexuality is posted) and meh, people will be people and disagree with each other. What can you do?

[identity profile] autophobia.livejournal.com 2007-01-23 11:56 am (UTC)(link)
No, I completely agree with you. Don't get me wrong, Case, my meaning of 'off' wasn't offensive, more, it seemed contradictory and wrong to me.

As long as nothing becomes too personal, and it eventually ends, I don't see any harm come from a little disagreement. All you *can* do is offer your own opinion, and sit back and watch.

And excuse me if this is a double post, LJ's whackin' on me.
