Tumblr problems

[personal profile] elaminator 2012-12-18 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
Can someone familiar with tumblr help? I'm not new to tumblr itself, but I am to having an account.

First of all, I want to primarily use it on my phone, but the app makes it almost impossible to do that efficiently. I only recently learned how to tag (before that I wasn't even tagging my posts... I thought the tags stayed when you reblogged things >.>) but trying to do so on the phone app freezes my keyboard. I can get one tag written before my keyboard freezes and after that it's pretty much useless trying to add more. I'm using SwiftKey 3; so far the default keyboard doesn't seem to cause the same problems, but I don't know if I can go back to using it. There's a huge difference.

As for using the website, it won't let me log in on dolphin browser. All it does is refresh the page, asking me to log in again. I've even tried clearing my cache and rebooting my phone but that doesn't work either.

Any suggestions? I've only had this account since yesterday but I'm already considering going back to just searching tags. I don't want to, but...

The phone app freezes regularly and is often unreliable. It's often joked about. (My problem: I can read my dash all I want with it, but can't post anything new period. Neither can either of my partners. We can reblog, though.)

As for tumblr with other browsers, it can be really flaky. All I can suggest there is trying a standard.

I'm sorry.

At least it isn't just me then. Thanks for the reply! I'll try the standard browser I guess, and if that doesn't work...meh, not using an account worked for me before.

Maybe they'll eventually fix some of the problems with the app. IDK how often they update it so I have no idea if that will happen anytime soon, but not being able to make posts is a big problem.

The tags actually used to stay when you reblogged things, it's not your imagination! I don't know why they changed that.

Like the other person answered, the tumblr app for the phone has a bad reputation. Sorry.

I've never had an account before so I just assumed the tags stayed...not sure why. Still, I think that would've been more convenient. You could delete them if you wanted and add new ones, but for the lazy that would've been a great option. (And I AM lazy.) WHY DID THEY GET RID OF THAT?!

I had no idea, so I'm glad to hear about it now rather than later. Thanks for the reply anon!
