Going on rides won't get you pregnant...

I mean. You wouldn't be paying for them to have sexyfuntimes, you're paying for them to be safe and healthy. And not get pregnant, therefore not having to consider the abortion you wouldn't want them to have.

I have no problem paying for people to be safe and healthy when they walk down the street, take public transportation, work at a job, etc. But I don't think it should be my responsibility to pay for safety and health of someone's sex life.

But at least in the case of mutually fertile heterosexual relationships, potential children are just as much as factor of society as sidewalks, public transportation, and employee safety. If not more so.

I'm afraid I'm not following here. The sidewalk and public transportation are public places that everybody should be responsible for, as everyone can use them. Jobs, independently wealthy people notwithstanding, are necessary and should be safe places as well.

When, with whom and how you choose to have sex are personal, private matters.

I'm talking about the children that can result from lack of contraception, who then become members of society, and are vastly more expensive than contraception. Anon downthread says it better than I can.

I would like to take the opportunity to point out that children do not result directly from a lack of contraception. A room devoid of condoms will not a child make. Sex has to happen first.
