I understand how important it is for some people to have labels available to them when they're figuring themselves and their identities out, but I find it really tiresome when people feel the need to shove those labels in my face unprompted. I'd rather get to know you as a person first (and, conversely, for people to get to know me as a person first) before worrying about whether you're a ~insert ridiculously long list of labels here~.

Also, there are so many labels out there now that it's a bit ridiculous to expect that everyone you run across is going to be familiar with it or its meaning. If the label works for you for personal identification, that's cool! But don't expect that everyone in the world is going to automatically understand what it means and get pissy and rude about it when they don't.

THIS. Especially when people throw out their Myers-Briggs thing into conversations. I'm just supposed to know what your group of letters mean?

I think Meyers-Briggs is really interesting personally

But people use it as a label? Really? You shouldn't be taking it that seriously to begin with, for one thing...

That doesn't bother me though? An "about me" is for saying things about yourself and it's not restricted to your "labels"

I had friends in high school who always did that, and wanted everyone they knew to take a test so they could "understand" us. I really couldn't fathom why I was supposed to care.

I find labels to be constraining and very unoriginal. I am happily miscellaneous.
