They might not see it as something that requires a lot of "opening up" (and might think that having a long relationship is a lot more intimate and aren't interested in pursuing that). Personally I've never had casual sex, don't know if I would, and I'm sure different individuals have different reasons for why they want to but in the end it's just that. They want to.
If your friends are constantly getting into dangerous situations then be concerned but if they're being safe and responsible then it's really none of your business.
