I'm guessing homestuck cause I always go with homestuck. Also the timelines and all. Which one is it? I'm thinking KanayaxRose?

tbh I don't think it's homestuck

they said multiple canon continuities and that sounds more like a comic being adopted into movies, tv series, more comics, etc.

or a videogame that has anime, manga, movies, etc.

that kind of thing

That's true. I was limiting my thinking. But I got to say homestuck in a front post so, mission accomplished.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-19 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
it is a noble mission

everyone will be assimilated or die in the process

no wait that looks stupid

Why so secretive with the fandom?

I'm the opposite. Understanding a character (or person) better, flaws, idiosyncrasies and all, further endears me to them.

Yeah, I'm the same way. The more I see how a character struggles to overcome their flaws, and manages to pull through despite it (or perhaps ultimately fails), the more it endears me to them.

I think I partially get so invested in fiction to give me a reason to believe that I can change, too.

Er...okay? If understanding your favorite characters' flaws better makes you love them less, I think you're doing something wrong.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-19 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
I have a similar problem. The more involved I get in a fandom, the less I feel my original OTP. It's just so much more complicated than that! Other things are more interesting!

Yeah, you pretty much have to choose -- are you in it for the light hearted squee or the deconstructive meta. I've done both at different parts of my life, but generally not with the same characters.

I think I know what you feel, kinda. Usually when I watched a show or movie for the first time, I come out of it shipping "X/Y". But after multiple viewings and thousands of hours discussing headcannons on the web, I gained a deeper understanding of characters that unfortunately makes pairing "X/Y" obsolete.

I hypothesize Transformers.

Well-known for both crazy and amazing fans, depending on corner, a whole slew of continuities and...a recently-introduced amazing canon relationship, the first that is genuinely confirmed in the current continuity stream.
