(Anonymous) 2012-12-19 12:31 am (UTC)(link)Also, I feel obligated to share the fact that my immediate reaction to that scene in "Victory of the Daleks" where the Doctor loses his shit and starts whaling on the Tea Dalek with the wrench was "D'awww, he must be remembering what his old companion taught him!"

She is one of my favorites. I would love to see her back for the 50th.

If you want a great fix for your "Ace meets Eleven" longings, try "Dragons of the Mind" by lyricwritesprose. (Should be on Teaspoon and probably AO3 as well.) No failed attempts at r-rolling, alas, but everything about that fic is magnificent and Eleven is a Seven-esque manipulative bastard for good reasons and it contains one of my favorite lines from a fanfic ever near the end.

I would love to want to see her in Doctor Who again but the fact is I'm kind of afraid of what they'd do to her, especially with Moffat at the wheel.
I know the ending they picked for her in the series could have been worse - I think in one of the comics they have her shot and killed on the moon? - but...I was kind of really disappointed. Obviously I have nothing against charity work, or people running charities, but to have her end up, 'the woman who runs A Charitable Earth' hurt a little.
This is the girl that, if the show hadn't gone on hiatus when it did, was going to be taken to the Prydonian Academy. The girl who in the books, iirc, at least at some point gets a motorcycle that travels in time and starts patrolling it.
It's wrong, I know. And I'd probably be happy if they did in any case but.. I probably wouldn't watch, haven't been, so I'm kind of null. xD
